Fallout 4 or Far Cry 4

The Two most popular, latest open world, RPG games would most likely be Ubisoft's Far cry 4 and Bethesda’s Fallout 4. Now looking at both of these under a critical eye we would see that both companies are on the same playing floor. We see this by how many games of been released in each series. While one might have been working on this particular project longer, they both only have four games. The question now comes down to which one is better? While this may seem like a no-brainer to some, to others, it might be a super difficult decision. This is because there is no right or wrong answer to this question. It is all a matter of one's opinion. I may have more of a connection to Fallout 4 just because I am more devoted to the Fallout series. While someone else might have a better connection with Far Cry.

However, I will help you out and give you a reason to favor one or the other.

Both have great graphics and intense action.

Both are open world games.

Freedom of choice and plot lines are well thought out.

Here are the main differences though...

Far Cry 4, put simply, is a lot more simple. The crafting is simpler, the gun selection, and even the mechanics of the game seem simpler when playing. However the map in far cry is a lot brighter and more creative than Fallout 4. Something about this game that many people favor is the smaller map size.

Fallout 4’s map is around 40 mi^2

While Far cry 4 is much smaller being around the same size as Far cry 3

To sum up Far cry 4, it is a much more focused game, meaning that it stay on track and should be considered and adventure game instead of an RPG.

Fallout 4 is a lot more tedious to play and requires a better understanding of the past games. The continuation of the story line is one of the main things that sells it. Because, first of all it has a really deep and rich story that continues throughout the series. Instead of starting up a new story every time with a different background, it follows the same timeline.

For this game you need to know what your character is going to be before starting game. Otherwise you will be guessing what you need to upgrade and work towards. This, however, will be a very nooby move on your part.

Now for the final difference between these games.

Bethesda games tend to be more task demanding. For these type of games, you must put a lot of time into them. A lot of people have problems with this kind of devotion. I think that you must be devoted to the game in order to enjoy it, so i have no problem with these types of games.

In conclusion, i would say that both are extremely great games, but as stated before, there is no correct answer to this because of everyone's personal preferences. Some might sway towards the easy, simple gameplay of far cry. While others will be hardcore Fallout fans. There is no particular reason for this other than opinion.

I hope this blog helped you out in the understanding of both games. Hopefully you will take something from this and apply it to your game preferences. As always I will be seeing you guys/girls next week. Have a great Week!
